Andres Beltran’s “Quicksand,” written by Matt Pitts, delves into the story of a troubled couple on the brink of divorce who embark on a journey to South America. As they traverse the rainforest, a thrilling prologue with hunters sets the stage, but unfortunately misses the mark. The film explores the crumbling marriage of a doctor (Carolina Gaitán) and her husband (Allan Hawco), who are stranded in a remote location after encountering a thief. Although the idea of confronting their issues while facing danger seems promising, the movie falls short due to weak script and excessive direction. Despite strong performances from the cast, “Quicksand” fails to fully captivate and lacks emotional depth. Visit afdah tv for more!
